Their small size, limited need for exercise, and relative cleanliness makes the tea cup puppy the ideal choice for urban living.
Nowadays, more and more people are living in densely populated areas in apartments, condos, and other somewhat restrictive living situations, often in rather tight quarters. Large and medium sized dogs can quickly fill up small apartments with their sheer bulk, knocking things over and getting themselves into quite a bit of trouble! With a teacup puppy, such as the teacup Chihuahua which only weighs in at about 2-3 pounds, there is plenty of room for both human and dog to move around comfortably and even stretch out a bit without destroying expensive artifacts or getting in each other’s way! The apartment that would be a prison to a larger dog becomes a palace for teacup sized dogs!
Many apartment homes today lack a sufficient sized yard for a dog to run in. Large dogs, that generally need lots of exercise and space to run, can become quite unruly and unhappy when not provided with enough space for exercise and indoor life can cramp their style! But teacup puppies can and will adapt very well to life indoors and will be quite content with the adventuring opportunities that a small, outside patio can offer them! Some teacup puppies, like the Yorkshire Terrier (or Yorkie for short), are smaller than cats, only standing about 5-6 inches tall, with a body length of about 6-7 inches. It is easy to see how these tiny dogs can easily fulfill much of their exercise needs simply by walking around the apartment!
One of the greatest things about teacup puppies is that they usually make less of a mess and tend to be easier to clean up after. Anyone who has owned a large dog has borne witness to the nearly constant problem of dog hair everywhere! Since a teacup puppy has less hair to shed, there is less hair to clean up and some breeds, like the Poodle and the Maltese do not shed at all! Also, since they can basically live their entire lives as indoor pets, there is rarely a problem with them leaving muddy paw prints all over the clean furniture!
Teacup puppies are the perfect solution to the problem of limited space that urban living presents. So the next time you get the urge to bring home a tiny teacup puppy with beautiful round, pleading eyes, you just might want to give it some extra consideration!

teacup puppies

Hi and welcome to my teacup puppies blog.
